Portfolio

Updated · Nimb

On Nimb, the portfolio is a map of your own Polymarket positions: each position is a circle sized by its value, grouped by category around your total, with entry → mark and profit or loss on each. Nimb reads it from Polymarket's public positions data for your Polymarket wallet. It is a place to review your readings, not a scoreboard.

Where do I see my positions?

Switch the map to Portfolio. Until you connect a wallet, Nimb shows a public example wallet taken from the top holders, labelled as such: "Example public wallet … · connect your wallet to see yours". Once connected, it shows yours.

On the mapWhat it means
Centre circlePortfolio value now, with total unrealised P&L in $ and %.
Category circlesOne per category you hold, sized by the value you hold there, in that category's colour, with value and P&L.
Position circlesOne per position, sized by current value (square-root scale), labelled with the market and its P&L.
LinesGreen lines hold Yes, red lines hold No.

Category and theme filters work here as on the main map. Click a position to open the market panel and its ticket.

How do I read a position?

Each position shows four things:

  • Shares and side, for example "Yes · 237 shares". On a multi-outcome event, the outcome is named.
  • Value: shares × the current price.
  • Entry → mark, for example 41% → 48%: your average buying price, then the current price of your side. In the panel it reads "Bought at 41%, now 48%."
  • P&L in dollars, green when positive, red when negative.

Prices on a No position are shown as the No price, so entry → mark always reads in the direction of what you hold.

What is the difference between realised and unrealised P&L?

Unrealised P&L
Unrealised P&L is the profit or loss on shares you still hold, valued at the current price: (mark − entry) × shares. It changes with every price move and is not money you have.
Realised P&L
Realised P&L is the profit or loss already locked in by selling or redeeming shares. Polymarket's positions data reports it as realizedPnl.

Unrealised P&L is measured at the mark, not at the price you could sell for. Selling hits the bid and pays fees, so closing usually returns a little less than the unrealised figure suggests. See selling and closing a position.

Worked example: 237 Yes shares bought at an average 41%, now 48%. Value $113.76; unrealised P&L about +$16.6, measured on the 41% entry price. Since your $100 included fees, your gain against the money you paid is a little lower.

How do you review your readings?

A position's P&L tells you how the price moved. It does not tell you whether your reading was good: a sound reading can lose and a bad one can win. Use the portfolio to ask better questions:

  • Does the reason I bought still hold? Open the market and reread it, rules included.
  • Has the price moved because of news I missed?
  • Is one category or theme most of my money? Concentration shows up as one large category circle.
  • When a market resolves, did my written chance beat the market's? Enter the outcome in your reading log and update your Brier score.

This is the review step of read and execute. The log, kept over many markets, is the only honest test of whether you have an informational edge; most apparent edge does not survive fees and noise. Alpha in prediction markets explains how to keep the log.

Why does the portfolio show a different wallet address?

Because your positions are held there. When you trade on Polymarket, your shares and pUSD sit in a Polymarket wallet (a Deposit Wallet for accounts created since May 2026, or an older Safe or proxy wallet), controlled by the wallet you connect, which signs orders. Nimb looks up that trading (deposit) wallet address and reads its positions; your signer address on its own holds none.

If the address in Nimb's portfolio differs from the one in MetaMask or Rabby, that is expected. It should match the address polymarket.com shows for your account.

Where does the data come from?

  • Positions: Polymarket's public positions API (data-api.polymarket.com/v2/positions?user=<wallet>), queried with your trading wallet address. It returns shares, average price, current value, realised and unrealised P&L, and whether a position can be redeemed.
  • Prices: Polymarket's live price stream, so marks update while the page is open.

Your positions are public data on Polygon; anyone with your wallet address can see them. Nimb reads them but does not store them on a server. Terms used on this page are in the glossary.
