Polymarket has said it plans a token and an airdrop, but as of 8 November 2026 Polymarket's documentation describes no Polymarket token: trading uses pUSD, a dollar token, and POL is Polygon's network token, not Polymarket's. Any site asking you to "claim" a Polymarket airdrop before Polymarket announces one on its own channels is a scam. Nimb has no token and runs no airdrop.
Is there a Polymarket airdrop?
- October 2025. Polymarket's chief marketing officer said in an interview that there will be a token and an airdrop, after the US relaunch.
- February 2026. Polymarket's parent company was reported to have filed US trademarks for "POLY" and "$POLY".
- November 2026. We found no token in Polymarket's developer documentation, which lists pUSD as the only trading collateral.
Nobody outside Polymarket knows the date, the size or who will qualify. Claims of a confirmed snapshot or allocation on unofficial sites are guesses.
Is POL Polymarket's token?
No. POL (formerly MATIC) is the token of the Polygon network, used to pay gas. Polymarket runs on Polygon, so you may see POL in your wallet, but it is not issued by Polymarket. pUSD is Polymarket's collateral token, backed by USDC, worth $1, and is not an airdrop or an investment.
Should I trade to qualify for an airdrop?
Nimb's view: no. Trading costs money (spreads and taker fees), any token is speculative, and nobody can say what activity, if any, will count. How do I avoid airdrop scams?
- Only trust announcements on Polymarket's own website and verified accounts; type the address yourself.
- A claim never needs your recovery phrase or private key.
- Read every wallet signature. "Permit" and "setApprovalForAll" signatures can give a stranger your tokens.
- Ignore DMs, replies and search ads promising early access.
