Polymarket vs Robinhood prediction markets

Last reviewed · By Louis Gherardi, editor · Nimb Markets

Robinhood's prediction markets are event contracts offered to US customers inside the Robinhood app, routed to CFTC-regulated exchanges (Kalshi, ForecastEx and, from 2026, Rothera, Robinhood's joint venture with Susquehanna); Polymarket's international platform is a crypto order book you use from your own wallet and is closed to US users for new positions. What are Robinhood prediction markets?

Robinhood launched a prediction markets hub in 2025 through Kalshi and later added other exchanges. In June 2026 it began routing some contracts, starting with the football World Cup, to Rothera, a CFTC-licensed exchange and clearing house it co-owns with Susquehanna, while keeping other markets on Kalshi (Robinhood newsroom, June 2026). The contracts work like any event contract: a price between $0.01 and $0.99 that pays $1 if the outcome happens. What is an event contract?

Which should I use?

  • In the US: Robinhood if you want event contracts next to your brokerage account; Kalshi or Polymarket US for a wider list of markets. Polymarket's international platform is not an option for new positions.
  • Outside the US: Robinhood's prediction markets are US-focused; Polymarket's international platform, where allowed, has the deepest markets on world events.
  • Anywhere: compare the same question's rules, deadline and all-in cost, not the brand.
