How to withdraw from Polymarket

Last reviewed · By Louis Gherardi, editor · Nimb Markets

To withdraw from Polymarket, sell or redeem your shares so your balance is in pUSD, then choose Withdraw, pick the destination chain and token (for example USDC on Polygon, Ethereum or another supported chain) and enter the receiving address; the bridge converts and sends the funds, usually within minutes. Nimb shows your balance and positions but never holds or moves your money; withdrawals go through Polymarket's bridge.

How do I withdraw from Polymarket step by step?

  1. Free up your money. Sell open positions, or wait for resolution and redeem winning shares for $1 each. Selling and closing a position.
  2. Choose Withdraw in Polymarket (or in Nimb's wallet sheet, which uses the same bridge).
  3. Pick a destination: chain and token. USDC on Polygon is the simplest; other chains include Ethereum, Solana and Bitcoin, among the assets Polymarket's bridge supports (supported assets).
  4. Paste the receiving address and check it character by character. If it is an exchange deposit address, check the exchange accepts that token on that network.
  5. Confirm in your wallet. The bridge unwraps pUSD to USDC and, if needed, swaps and bridges it (Polymarket: withdraw).
  6. Track it. The bridge's status page or the destination chain's explorer shows when it lands.

How long does a Polymarket withdrawal take?

DestinationTypical timeNotes
USDC on PolygonMinutesNo bridge needed, only the unwrap
Other EVM chains (Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum…)Minutes, sometimes longerBridged; Ethereum has higher network costs
Solana, BitcoinMinutes to an hourBridged and swapped
Bank accountDepends on the exchangeWithdraw to an exchange first, then sell for cash there

Times are indicative, not a promise.

Why is my Polymarket withdrawal pending or stuck?

  • Pool exhausted. pUSD is unwrapped and swapped through a liquidity pool for native USDC. Polymarket's docs say this pool can run out at times: split the withdrawal into smaller amounts, wait, or withdraw pUSD directly (not every exchange accepts pUSD).
  • Large amounts. For withdrawals over $50,000 Polymarket suggests splitting them to reduce slippage.
  • Bridge in progress. Cross-chain transfers wait for confirmations on both chains. Check the transaction status before sending again.
  • Funds still in positions. Only pUSD can be withdrawn. Unresolved shares must be sold first; resolved winners must be redeemed.
  • Wrong token at the destination. If the funds arrived as a different token or network than the exchange supports, contact the exchange; see deposit sent to the wrong network.

Can I withdraw from a restricted country?

Close-only countries (including the US, the UK and France on the international platform) can close positions and withdraw; they cannot open new positions. Eligibility and restricted countries.

Frequently asked questions

Does Polymarket charge a withdrawal fee?

Polymarket's bridge quotes the fees and the amount you will receive before you confirm; network costs and swap slippage depend on the destination. Its quote endpoint previews them.

Can I withdraw to my bank?

Not directly from the international platform. Withdraw USDC to an exchange that supports your currency and sell it there.

Is there a minimum withdrawal?

Bridge minimums depend on the chain and token; Polymarket lists them with the supported assets.

Do I pay tax when I withdraw?

Withdrawing moves your own money; whether a tax event happened depends on your country and on when the trade settled. Prediction market taxes.
